Due to Finch's underestimation of writing duties, the series first volume suffered from very large delays, with Finch not even drawing the last two issues, just to get them out before the relaunch. To counter this problem the second go around, Finch brought in writer Paul Jenkins to act as the Writer/Co-plotter, leaving Finch more focused on his drawing. Though Jenkins had originally planned to write more, he was replaced after seven issues, by Gregg Hurwitz, who would solely write the series from issue #10 and on.
